For casey28 What's your favorite J2 convention moment?

I’m afraid I don’t have a lot of convention moments to choose from.   I live vicariously through my flist for convention highlights but I don’t search out moments to watch or listen to.  I’ve never seen an interview with either J and though I’ve heard they’re marvelous I don’t expect I will, at least until the show ends its run (and maybe not even then).    I’m not a person who gets into behind the scenes or “how it was done” type of addendums to movies or shows.  I want Sam and Dean to be Sam and Dean not Jared and Jensen and it’s more possible to keep that separation if the actors are only on the periphery of my attention. 

Don’t get me wrong (as it would be easy to do as I’m not sure I’m making sense here), I go to dizzojay’s Jensen’s body appreciation posts and I check out the occasional picture of Jared and Gen and the boys.  I have a few pins of convention moments on Pinterest and I guess my favorite one is Jensen telling the story of how Jared spiked the eggnog in AVSC.  J  Jared: Sam.  Sam spiked the eggnog.  Jensen: No.  No, Sam did not.  LOLOLOL.  Jared the big goofball and Jensen staying in character with a mouth full of liquor.  Perfect look at the both of them.   But it’s kind of why I don’t seek more of these out.  I don’t want Jared to have spiked the eggnog.  I want it to have been Sam.  But now I know it wasn’t and it kind of loses something for me.  

I feel like I want to go back now and watch early season conventions and interviews.  Because I feel like an inadequate fan.  Like I said.  Making no sense. 

 

For brightly_lit   If there was a fandom-related gift you could receive, what would you want the most?

Well…if magic were real, I’d love it if my fairy godmother would wave her wand and bring all of my flist together with me in a huge ballroom with comfy beanbag chairs and couches and a movie screen sized T.V on one wall.  We’d all hang in out pajamas and have snacks and drinks and watch Show from beginning to end while having endlessly entertaining and hilarious discussions on a plethora of fandom related things.  Fic.  Art.  Meta.  Storyline.  Favorite episodes.  Why we love Dean.  Why we love Sam.  How we feel about John.  Ellen.  Bobby.  Jo.  Lisa.  Gordon.  Cas.  Every character, minor and major would have their chance to shine.  And it would all be civil and fun and we’d laugh and cry and scream and drool and have allllllll the feels. 

 

 

 

wings128  We all know what Dean's decision was when it came to giving Sam his soul back, but if it were your sibling/parent, what would your decision be?


Wow, don't make it easy on me now.  Are the circumstances the same?  Have I been to hell and do I know that my loved one has spent triple the amount of time that I spent there but with no opportunity to make the torment stop? 

God, that's a tough question.  Let my family member live their life as a conscienceless sociopath or risk that they'd be driven insane and be in hell for the rest of their lives from the memories.  I mean, I couldn't  count on an angel to step in and save the day.

Gah!  LOL, I can see my brother teaching his high school English class with no soul. My sister treating her patients not so much.  My other brother running his sound editing equipment wouldn't be a problem.  My dad swearing at the tv and getting angry at his golf game.  Not really the same sorts of situations Sam found himself in.  The quick witted sardonic sense of humor would still be there with all of them.  But they wouldn't be THEM any more. 

But they'd be alive.  I think, that I (just barely because I could easily go the other way) would leave them be.  And just do the best I could to relate to them the way they were.  But boy, what an impossible choice.
