She tells John that she doesn’t care as long as it’s healthy, but in her heart Mary wants a girl.  Dean’s the light of his parent’s life- love, exuberance, constant motion wrapped up in a perfect little body.  He’s their boy.

Mary dreams of the daughter she and John will have- a pretty girl with her mother’s smile and her father’s eyes.  For her child she wants dresses and tea parties and proms instead of spells and weapons and blood. 

When Sam’s born, she’s not at all disappointed.  She’s young.  John’s young.  There’s no reason to stop at just two.
